Heads up, Star People!

Research is continuous on the effects of minerals found in the earth on the body and psyche. I often used to encounter New Agers who were so happy that they were disconnecting from the evil mundane universe and that they were living in a gentle high where nothing really seemed to matter. They were always chagrined when as an Elder being approached for comment or advice I suggested that they take a zinc supplement. Their symptoms were not those of a spiritual high, but of a zinc deficiency.

Connecting Dots in the Mundane World.

The metaphysical folks are always very good at connecting astrological phenomena with what is happening, or has happened in the world. Their analyses of after the fact stuff are often remarkable, as hind sight is 20/20 and makes all things clear. It’s much easier to look at something after it has happened, and then cherry pick the astrological evidence to show that it was foretold in the stars. Politicians are as expert as astrologers at doing that, and with much more deadly results.

The Dreamers and the Dream

The great psychiatrist Carl Jung once had a dream in which he found himself behind a meditating yogi, in a temple. On walking to the front of the yogi he discovered that it was himself.

In his dream he knew, at that moment, that when the yogi's meditation was over, he, Carl Jung, would die as a human.

It is a very ancient Hindu concept that we and the universe are fragments of a dream, or a meditation of God.

I have some spinning to do

As people who are diligent about connecting dots of what occurs between worlds it behoves us to note the skill of those who do it in the mundane world in order to convey an idea that is the exact contrary of what the facts would seem to convey.

It is easy to lie by telling only the truth, if you cherry pick the truth, or even add an extra truth that is not expected. For instance, if I was talking to you about someone you knew but not well and said, "Oh yes, I know John, in fact I met him yesterday at 3:00 in the afternoon and he was sober."
