Mabon, the Second Harvest Festival, is one of the names given to the time when the pagan Wheel of the Year spins round to the Autumn Equinox. The stories about the Wheel depend on the tradition that produces the stories. I have posted several articles about the eight power points of the Wheel, mainly from my own Celtic viewpoint, though I have gone back as far as Sumeria for some of the links to the present day traditions and rituals. The one most cogent to this one is Lughnassah, 1st Harvest (7/24/2008) since both are to do with Lugh, the God of Light in the Irish, Llew in the Welsh.

The Broken Staff
The last posting about protein has produced comments among the few in my local group who didn’t realize the tremendous effect that advertising from the food industry had achieved without their awareness. In a little group conversation about food in general the subject became bread, and how or if it too had changed over the years. I went back to the health files and pulled out an article that I wrote during an early winter spell not long since, and updated it a bit.
Protein and You
I recently overheard some people, obviously on different TV publicized diets, talking at each other about their need for protein. This matter probably interests some of you who realize that taking care of your vehicle in this incarnation and in this country is harder than it used to be because of the TV and processed food ads. And I heard them talking at each other about A protein being better than B protein, and on and on.
