In Praise of Waitresses

In these times of economic problems for so many people I always notice how the waitresses are bearing up and carrying on. Many have problems of health or the health of relatives or children to deal with. They also often have bosses who realize that such women are now easy to bully because of the state of the job market. We Make our own Reality #3 (Historical Evidence)

In previous postings We Make our own Reality #1 and #2 we looked at the concept that we are, as humans, programmed by our early upbringing. We accept certain limitations on our abilities that become so ingrained in the consensus mentality that they become laws of our human universe. It is unthinkable to many that these are not universal laws, but merely consensus. In this way what we all agree upon becomes reality, and that varies from country to country and culture to culture.

Something that has been known in other cultures for many centuries is finally becoming known in this one. Floods of books and tapes on Eastern religions, sub-atomic physics, quantum theory, and the metaphysics of becoming a millionaire, are all pointing to the same primal, spiritual, fact of human existence. There are even movies with the theme, movies such as Matrix, What the Bleep and The Secret.

Life is lived and created from the inside.

In the current circumstances where so many people are sinking into depression and taking for granted that they are victims of circumstances it seemed appropriate to review and rewrite three of my articles from the distant past when the present didn’t seem to contain so many problems. Our experience of our world largely depends on our attitude, and that includes the laws of Nature that we choose to obey. That is news to many people but once known it helps a lot. Positive thinkers see the options hidden from negative thinkers, for example.
