I have some spinning to do

As people who are diligent about connecting dots of what occurs between worlds it behoves us to note the skill of those who do it in the mundane world in order to convey an idea that is the exact contrary of what the facts would seem to convey.

It is easy to lie by telling only the truth, if you cherry pick the truth, or even add an extra truth that is not expected. For instance, if I was talking to you about someone you knew but not well and said, "Oh yes, I know John, in fact I met him yesterday at 3:00 in the afternoon and he was sober."

Now all of that could be true, and yet there is no other conclusion that a rational mind could draw from comment but the fact that John is not usually sober at 3:00 in the afternoon.

That's one kind of spin and the perpetrators can look shocked when cornered and point out that everything they said was true, like the corporate villains who insist that everything they did was legal, as if that automatically forgives unethical, inhumane and immoral behaviour...it's legal.

We have had just about nothing but spin in the news this week and I want to share with you a brilliant example that was on a blog by someone who calls himself Canuck. Think about it. He showed how the media and the current set of frauds would report the voyage of the Titanic to make it look good.

Titanic’s Successful Voyage

"By cherrypicking facts, and using a tunnel vision, you can make any event look successful.

Take the Titanic:
-The Titanic successfully completed 85% of its voyage, doing so in record time.
- the Titanic successfully avoided any and all collisions with other shipping.
-Not one single passenger was killed by fire
-100 % of passengers and crew were successfully transferred from the ship to the water.
- At the end of its maiden voyage, the Titanic successfully arrived on land.
- The orchestra always played magnificently"

Quod Erat Demonstrandum. And I bet a lot of people reading that, or hearing it would conclude that the Captain of the Titanic did a great job.
