Let’s do what the media does and check out some of the bad news first. Obviously the B.P. oil spill which is destroying the livelihood and environment of thousands of ‘small people’ as the CEO of that company called them, is high on the list. But look at http://www.wimp.com/oilspills/ and you will see the SAME headlines, the SAME excuses, the SAME failures and months of damage because of the oil spill, in the Gulf, thirty years ago.
That mess, the worst oil spill in history at the time, lasted from June through December, just as this one most likely will. Check it out. Marvel at the short memory of the media and of that of those of the American public over forty years old.
But notice that the spill then occurred in only 200 feet of water and all the identical methods to try to fix the problem were tried by the same company that’s trying them today. Nobody has bothered to advance the safety technology, (expenses) while the drilling technology has advanced a great deal (profits). The current mess is 5000 feet below sea level. Both spills were because the safety apparatus didn’t operate correctly. In both cases it was pretty clear that the company wanted to save money by not spending it on safety. If you check the major spills on land or sea over the last twenty years you will find that B.P. was involved in all of them.
On the 17th of this month the Republican Joe Barton actually apologized to CEO Tony Hayward for the White House's arrangement with B.P. to establish a $20 billion fund to pay for damages in the Gulf. The Republicans are trying to keep their campaign donations coming from the corporations while blaming Obama for the oil spill, and the fact that it hasn’t been stopped by the government. It’s corporate money that’s important to the politicians. But who’s surprised. Look up the rest yourself. OK, next item.
If you have been reading my postings with any attention you will already know what I think of the scum-ball corporation Monsanto. Now you do anyway. These are the people who prosecute small farmers who don’t want to use their genetically modified seeds if a single Monsanto plant is found in a field of many acres. And they are not above planting that ‘evidence’ themselves.
Their lawyers made it impossible for anyone to advertise that they were selling milk without bovine growth hormone in it. The ‘reason’ was truth in advertising. So Monsanto type cows that were giving milk with puss in it from suppurating udders and a high content of penicillin, among other drugs, was OK but good milk was penalized.
Monsanto is the cause of thousands of suicides among Indian farmers. They provide seeds that produce hybrid plants that the farmers can’t use to stockpile seeds for the next year. They treat their seeds so that special fertilizers are required and special weed killers are required. Monsanto rakes in the money. The farmers are in debt up to their ears in no time and suicide is their way out.
Monsanto's genetically modified soy beans and associated products are a health hazard all over the world. Genetically modified seeds and the plants they produce have been shown to have an estrogen like effect that is strongest on boys. Apparently these ‘food’s are the reason for the increase in difficulty that so many boys have with their sexual identity.
And don’t forget that Monsanto manufactured Agent Orange and has refused to compensate any of the Viet Nam victims of that chemical.
They are also the practiced liars who bought Aspertame from G.D. Searle in 1984 and touted it as a harmless sweetener in spite of all the evidence to the contrary that it produces nerve damage. The aspartame in the drinks of the GI’s in the Gulf War may well be connected to the mysterious Gulf War Syndrome that is the same as aspartame poisoning, on the surface anyway.
ANYTHING they say or do must be regarded with great care to see the profit agenda hidden behind the smooth words.
A few of the memory challenged American public will possibly still remember the disaster in Haiti not long since. Fewer still will know that the Cuban medical people were first in there helping the survivors. And they stay long after the press has gone on to the next story. But Cuba is the bad place where people don’t go bankrupt with medical bills so we don’t talk about them.
But Monsanto donated over 400 tons of hybrid corn and vegetable seeds to Haiti. At the beginning of June some 10,000 peasant farmers, who were not deceived, gathered to burn the Monsanto gift.
Haiti farmers are seeing that the genuine helpers of Haiti may be bringing about the beginning of a sustainable food system for the country. They see how Monsanto’s ‘gift’ is a poison gift designed only to benefit Monsanto.
Quite apart from being treated with poisonous compounds that would harm the health of anyone handling them the seeds are hybrids that cannot reproduce and gift a future crop of selected plants for the farmer, as farmers all over the world have done for milennia.
Here are a few main points from the speech of the leader of the Peasant Movement, Jean-Baptiste. He spoke in Creole so take these words as very good approximations to the meaning, not a literal translation.
• Hybrid seeds are a poison gift. They don’t reproduce, and therefore cannot be shared among a community. Haiti does not yet view seeds as a commodity like the US does. These hybrid seeds threaten the cultural fabric in Haiti because they break the cycle of food sharing.
• Jean-Baptiste believes that Monsanto has taken the opportunity of the recent earthquake in Haiti to intentionally introduce the seeds and destroy Haitian agriculture, creating a dependency on Monsanto each season for new seeds.
• If the Haitian government accepts Monsanto’s seeds, rather than trying to build a system of food sovereignty, the Haitian farmer will become a day laborer, working for industrial farms. This would completely transform the economy to an industrial system instead of working to support farmers through a local economic system.
• “We are an occupied country and want to recover our freedom, starting with food sovereignty. The struggle against Monsanto is not a small thing – they are extremely powerful. We need to unite ourselves – this is a global struggle.”
• "A large population of Haitians do not yet understand the implications of the relationship with Monsanto, many have never heard of the company before. The first task is to educate. “
That last sentence applies to the American public also. It’s a small proportion that know of the shady dealings of Monsanto. Let’s move on to another topic since we are just dipping a little spoon here and there into a huge vat of bad news.
Maybe little news items such as these make you want to relax with a drink or a cigarette. Almost everyone in America takes some kind of drugs every day. Caffeine is a pretty potent drug. Aspirin is a powerful drug too. The fact that it’s common doesn’t mean it isn’t powerful. And of course millions use nicotine in little packages called cigarettes.
Then maybe your team wins or loses; either way apparently thousands of fans go to the bars to absorb alcohol, or maybe wait till they get home and take a six pack.
Estimates run to about 100 million Americans who have used marijuana. Hundreds of athletes we have heard of just suddenly realized they were using performance enhancing drugs, apparently due to what a commentator called ‘immaculate injection’ hence the surprise when they found out.
Despite a $40 billion a year "war on drugs" that is premised on the goal of creating a "drug-free society," our country is swimming in drugs.
Drugs are multi-purpose. People use them to experience pleasure and to dull pain. Sharing a glass of wine with the friend is a time honored custom to help both of you relax. After a stressful day with the boss from hell many people take to the bottle for solace. Some are convinced, like the great Inspector Morse that beer and whiskey both make thinking and crime solving easier. And a great many people have discovered the god drugs that shaman use to experience the sensation of Oneness with the All.
Drunken drivers continue to kill people, often people valuable to society, while the drunken sot gets away with bruises and doesn’t even lose the driving license. Talk to a Mother Against Drunk Drivers for the gory details. But there are two glaring problems with the war on drugs. The first is that the ‘war’ is being lost. The second is that in the land of the free there are different strokes for different folks. Justice and law are quite different things.
In America close to two million people are arrested every year on non violent drug charges. In NYC in 2009 almost 50,000 people were arrested for marijuana possession. The law about this is a product of the politically inspired campaign to destroy the hemp industry. DuPont and the Hearst newspapers did that and made it very difficult for a politician to protect the amazing products of the hemp industry without the opposition talking about marijuana, which it isn’t, and saying he is soft on drugs.
But the war on drugs is not only fake, it’s color conscious. Some 87% of the 50.000 arrested in NYC were blacks or Latinos, though the drug usage rates are the same for whites. Blacks and Latinos are nine times more likely to be stopped and frisked than whites, and blacks are 13 times more likely to be arrested than whites.
By declaring ‘war on drugs’ we are declaring war on ourselves. Most families include someone dealing with an addiction to a legal or an illegal drug. Maybe we should concentrate on the people who have problems and leave those alone who are not causing any harm to anybody. The current war is too much like a religious war where those unlike a certain group in power are in peril.
And while we are on the war on drugs let’s look at another war, the war on cancer. The war on cancer has been lost for decades in this country. The lawyers of the drug companies, the FDA, the tyrants of the AMA and the American Cancer Institute have arranged it so that only the most expensive and ineffective treatments are legally available in this country.
The only choice a doctor has here is drug, cut or burn. If the doctor mentions methods other than the obscenely expensive three options he or she will lose the license to practice medicine.
But when cancer specialists get cancer they don’t use the treatments they prescribe for others. When wealthy Americans or people in the know, like those in the AMA or the FDA get cancer they go to Germany or Mexico where treatments that cure cancer have been in use for ages. Here, in the U.S. people don’t die from the cancer, they die from the treatment.
Now the Internet is available the iron grip of the liars over the truth is slackening and anyone can find out about other ways of treating cancer with great success, ways that sometimes work in a matter of a few weeks. But the methods used suffer from two major problems from the point of view of the drug companies. They are very inexpensive compared with ‘orthodox’ treatments, to the ratio of about ten cents to the dollar in many cases and they often use materials obtained from plants or herbs that cannot be patented, So the drug companies here block the news or produce a media blitz of lies, as they did about laetrile, one of the most successful substances used for many different kinds of cancer.
It makes people in the know want to throw up when the cancer specialist treats the case of the splendid Patrick Swazey as a success because he lived in misery for five years with chemo and radiation. If he had gone to Hanover he would have been treated with massive injections of vitamin C, or an ozone treatment, or a method of raising the body temperature to fever temperature which kills cancer cells very quickly, or laetrile and enzymes, which causes the cancer cells to release the organic cyanide that affects only the cancer cells and not the healthy ones. No pain. No nausea. No loss of hair. No miserable existence as the immune system is compromised. We would have had Patrick for many more healthy years.
I have mentioned Essiac in other postings. This herbal concoction of an Ojibway medicine man was used by Nurse Caisse in Canada to cure thousands of officially terminally ill cancer patients in Canada. President Kennedy’s personal physician had colon cancer and cured himself with Essiac. Sloan Kettering Cancer Institute tried to get the major herb of the mixture outlawed in Canada. It’s obvious whose side they are on and it isn’t yours. The Canadian 'Health' authorities collected all the records of Nurse Caisse and burned them in 55 gallon drums. Bureaucrats stick together against the public.
Thousands of people elsewhere are cured from cancer which elsewhere is not the dread disease of American Medical propaganda. Forty years ago the cure rate from orthodox cut, burn or radiate in this country was 4%. Today, billions of dollars in the pharmaceutical coffers later and thousands of bankruptcies due to medical bills later, it is still 4%.
Scientific, double bind tests in other countries where doctors aren’t hamstrung by lawyers and by withheld information, the rates vary from 65% to over 85% (laetrile) cures. Go figure.

That’s as far as I can go after all the long articles I’ve written about cancer and the lies of the Sloan Kettering people, dedicated to keeping the American people ignorant of any treatment that can’t be patented.
Since I regard women as the only hope of the human race against the testosterone inspired antics of power hungry men I had better mention a matter that concerns many of them.
Some diseases are called culture-genic because they are based on some aspect of the culture. The fashion business and its Madison Avenue puppet masters bear some responsibility for a major item; breast cancer.
Studies, again in other countries, have shown that mammograms and the regular application of radiation to the breasts are one of the causes of the cancer that they are supposed to forestall. There’s the clue. Look for it on the Web.
The other factor is under-wire bras. In an effort to appear eternally young with the high shapely breasts of a slim young woman, many woman are cramming their breasts into fashion bras that cut off lymph circulation and cause problems, among them breast cancer.
Some researchers noticed that in cultures, like parts of Hawaii, where the women didn’t bother with bras, they weren’t bothered with breast cancer. If you want to explore this just pick up a copy of Dressed to Kill by Sydney Singer and Soma Grisjaijer. Don’t just go for the title, check the authors too. There are several murder mysteries of the same name, and that’s ironic.
What other news snippets could inspire us? We are losing the war in Afghanistan, as predicted. The American army is useless against a guerilla force with the backing of the people, just as they were in Vietnam in spite of totally overwhelming fire power. There is no defense against people who are willing to die as long as they kill Americans in so doing.
But we have to keep the troops away in foreign lands. If we suddenly had hundreds of thousands of trained soldiers back home looking in vain for jobs their training in action might be used to deal with the people responsible and that mustn’t happen must it?
The paranoia of Israel with its finger on the nuclear trigger and the Republican Party agreeing to whatever Israel says might be the cause for alarm in anyone who actually knows where Palestine is.
Nature appears to be practicing its extermination techniques on the human cancer affecting Her. Earthquakes all over. Sinkholes hundreds of feet deep appearing. Towns sliding downhill in rainstorms. Flash flooding and unusual rainfall all over the world. Tornadoes increasing in violence. Volcanoes that spew ash and totally shut down air traffic. A heavy hurricane season expected in the Gulf of Mexico. Refugee camps all over the world trying to protect humans from being killed by other humans. Mine disasters in various countries, all of which treat profits from the exploitation of nature as more important than the safety of the workers.
Let’s end the bad news with some background and a prediction. Because it is so incredibly toxic, the UK's Marine Management Organization has completely banned the dispersant Corexit 9500, so if there was a major oil spill in the UK's North Sea, BP would not be able to use it. But the U.S. government allows B.P. to use Corexit 9500 in the Gulf of Mexico. I wondered why.
Mike of the amazing site NatureNews.com gave a very likely answer. He suggests that Corexit kills sea animals and makes them sink and disappear rather than allowing them to wash up on shore where the emotional outcry would be even worse than it is already.
Now these figures are pretty generally accepted: 2.6 parts per million of Corexit that mixes with oil at a ratio of 1:10 is lethal to 50% of fish within 4 days. If you play with a calculator you will see that 1 gallon of the Corexit/oil mixture can make over 383 thousand gallons of water highly poisonous to fish.
B.P. has already dumped over a million gallons of the stuff into the Gulf and they have another 805,000 on order to use. These figures show that B.P. is in charge, not the U.S. government. The media people are being kept away from the area. Planes have restricted air space over the scene. People attempting to use boats are being told they are trespassing…in public waters! Obviously B.P. thinks it owns the Gulf. Some 17,000 National Guard are being dispatched to the Gulf region. For what? Most likely to control the angry population.
That’s the background. Here’s the prediction. The Corexit is very toxic to living things. The amount planned is going to poison the whole Gulf region. Hurricane season is predicted as rather heavy this year. If hurricanes deposit that crap on the land it could wipe out the Florida citrus industry and poison hundreds of thousands of people. And that seems likely to happen.
I have over a hundred other gems of bad news that I could report. But I had better stop and get on with the items in the file of good news. Balance is necessary.
Sorry! That file appears to be empty. So I’ll end here. Have a good day!
