Hallowe’en is just a few days away, celebrations began four days ago in Salem, so it’s time for my updated historical story about it. For days now, round here at any rate, stores like Walgreens have been filled with hideous masks and replicas and complete outfits for children, and others to wear. Web sites are advertising masks of various political and CEO felons, not to mention equally hideous things designed to turn the average lawn into a graveyard.
