As I have mentioned before, I seem to write my articles about two years too soon. Recently I have had and encountered several energy workers who were interested in Bach Flower Remedies but didn’t know much about them. Maybe it’s time for an update of my 2007 article. Here it is. Happy hunting.
Hahnemann
And No Side Effects
In 1831 a terrible epidemic of cholera swept through Europe. Thousands died, as usual, but this year was unique because in some treatment centers the death rate was very low.
The new centers were using a recently introduced medical modality called homeopathy. In the Raab Centre in Hungary only 6 out of 154 patients died. Orthodox treatments in the same area had a 59% death rate.
All over Central Europe a similar pattern emerged. The death rate in homeopathic hospitals varied between 2½% and 22%, compared with a minimum rate of 50% using the orthodox methods.
Bach Flower Remedies; Magic in a Bottle
Maybe I should entitle this “Lotions and Potions.” Allopaths sneer at folk lore remedies that have worked for centuries because they have no scientific explanation available for how they work. But they don’t know how aspirin works either. Lotions and potions have been viable remedies for centuries.
When I first began as a health writer about forty years ago physicians sneered at the possibility that applying some folk remedy to the skin could possible affect the inner workings of the body. Now we have all sorts of patches available from Big Pharma, and of course the physicians act as if they knew about it all along, as they sneered at vitamins and supplements for decades, and now want to make them prescription only.
