I am often asked nowadays what I think about the coming change of consciousness on Dec 21st 2012 forecast by the amazingly talented Mayans. Well, that question obviously involves the concept of time and how we have identified with it to our detriment so I’ll provide a slightly different perspective from the True/False, Woe/Joy salesman’s options.

I received this today over the Web. I checked the usual sources for a hoax since what it suggests is so totally different from any usual political process as to appear incredible. So far it doesn’t come up as a hoax. The people mentioned are practically a hit list for folks like the Skeptical Inquirer, which should be a qualification for many readers. I’m surprised it took so long to get here but it may indeed be a petition worth signing. I checked the petition site and it seems genuine. Well, a great many of the kind of people who would read this blog from choice are among those who consider that the year 2012 is a kind of watershed in the history of Earth and those currently living on it. The Hopis and the Mayans and several other sets of people have ancient prophecies in which this date is, to put it bluntly, the end of time.
