This is a question I have been asked many times when discussing samadhi, satori, enlightenment and other states in the non-Christian scriptures. Well maybe it sometimes is spiritual, but the experience is often a genuine one with a totally misplaced understanding of its source.

The Right to Self Defence
The Supreme Court has recently upheld the Second Amendment right to bear arms for self defence, and struck down the thirty year old Washington DC handgun ban. This of course has raised screams of anguish from people who haven’t actually read the Bill of Rights and who can make cheap political points by ‘tough on crime’ speeches.
The Trouble with Soy
This week we had a visitor who is very conscious of her diet and really does her best to eat healthful food. So I was somewhat astonished when she began describing the part that soy products have in some of her favorite recipes.
Lughnassah, first Harvest Festival
It’s one week now before August 1st and I checked the 148 article titles in the archives and realized that I hadn’t yet put on a posting about the Sabbat called Lughnassah, by those who can get their eyes around the spelling of the Irish, and Lammas by those who can’t.
All the other Sabbats have had some kind of treatment. But it turns out that everything I have written about Lughnassah was in notes for students and not for the blog readers. So here goes a little summary. Mea culpa!
